In memory of Co-Founder Melanie Petschke's sister, Crunchi is teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to help keep you safe this holiday season. Read below for Melanie's full story and why MADD is so important to her and us.

Eighteen years ago I lost my beautiful sister Beth to a drunk driver. I remember the call like it was yesterday as I stood in a public phone booth of the busy Nairobi, Kenya airport. I was studying abroad my junior year of college and had just finished a four-day camping safari.

Beth was 11 years older than me and was, therefore, more like a mother growing up together in St. Paul, Minnesota. She contributed so much to the person I am today. It is not possible to concisely summarize the endless list of unique and incredible qualities Beth possessed. I will say, she was an unbelievably generous, insanely hard-working, non-judgmental, independent, confident woman who was a loyal friend, and put everyone before herself. She was a talented artist and set decorator in Hollywood, and a creative, free spirit.

On November 12th, Crunchi will be donating $5 for every order placed through Crunchi.com to MADD in memory of my sister Beth Ann Lundin. Because of a senseless, selfish act by a drunk driver, she had her life stolen from her, and us.
